Open Kraków

The "Open Krakow" Program has been implemented in our city since 2016, with a number of activities aimed at creating a society living as a community, using the potential of the representatives of national and ethnic minorities and foreigners to favor the development of it.

The objective of the Program is to implement the policy of Krakow's openness to the representatives of national and ethnic minorities and foreigners through building a sense of solidarity among its citizens, as well as their awareness and knowledge about the culture and customs of other nationalities; shaping a tolerant attitude towards foreigners, national and ethnic minorities.

The Open Kraków programme directly improves the lives of migrants and refugees in Kraków. The Multicultural Centre offers events, networking meetings, Polish language courses and psychological support and the Migrant Info Point provides legal aid, psychological support, and assistance with official matters etc.

There is also an education guide and 160 multicultural assistants employed in schools, while Ukrainian children and their Polish peers can receive psychological, educational and logopedic assistance in 8 “Sunny Spaces of Support”.

The Kraków Entrepreneur Support Centre has business consultants providing information in Ukrainian, Russian and English. 1,532 foreigners, including 1,366 Ukrainian citizens and nationals received support in 2022.

Krakow Ambassador of Multiculturalism Competition
